Captions for phone calls

A call is the hardest place of all. At a counter you can ask them to repeat, point at a piece of paper, or ask someone nearby for help. On the phone there is nothing: no face, no gestures, no second try. And people call exactly when it matters — from the clinic, the bank, the school.

Why this still doesn’t exist

Not because nobody thought of it. Android and iOS don’t give apps access to the sound of a phone call — neither what the other person says nor what you say. The system itself forbids it, and an honest app can’t get around that.

So we are building a version that takes a different route — not around the ban, but past it. It already works: I can’t hear, and I talk through it every day. What is left is to make it work for you as simply as it does for me — without settings and without my help on the phone.
