Klaro

When they speak Hebrew, you read English

Klaro listens to a doctor, a clerk or a salesperson and instantly shows what they say on screen in large English text. Under the translation it shows how it sounded in Hebrew.

The first 30 minutes are free. No card needed.

Hear with your eyes

Words appear on screen a second after they are spoken. No need to ask again or guess.

Hebrew — in English

You tick the languages you understand. Everything said in the others is translated into the one you choose.

The conversation stays with you

The history is kept on your device. You can send it to yourself as a file — for example, to ask for a summary.

Michael, the maker of Klaro

Who is behind this

I can’t hear. For many years I have paid for speech transcription — the free kind works too unreliably to depend on, and for me it is my link to the world. Klaro is what I use myself every day: first to understand what people around me are saying, then I added translation, so that Hebrew would reach me in Russian. Now anyone can use it.

Questions people ask

Do I need the internet?

Yes. Speech is recognized on a server, and without a connection there are no captions.

What happens to my conversation?

The text stays on your device. The audio is streamed to Soniox for recognition: neither the audio nor the transcript is stored there or used to train models. We keep only your email and your remaining minutes.

How much does it cost?

The first 30 minutes are free. After that you buy time in packages right in the browser: two hours for ₪14.90, and the bigger the package, the cheaper each hour. No subscription — you pay only when you talk, and minutes you buy never expire.

Which languages?

Russian, Ukrainian, Hebrew, English and French — both as languages you know and as the language to translate into.

What about phone calls?

Not yet, and not because we are lazy: Android and iOS don’t give apps access to the sound of a call. We are building a version where this becomes possible — leave your email and we’ll write when it works.

Does it work on an iPhone?

Yes. Open Klaro in Safari, tap “Share” and then “Add to Home Screen” — from then on it lives as its own icon and opens like a normal app, without the address bar. There is nothing to install from the App Store, and no need to.

Something wrong, or something missing?

Write to us — we reply to the email you give.
